Karma's Superpowers

As karma would have it , I have discovered that I have superpowers. How do I know this you may ask well sit back and I will tell you a story of how I found out......

It was on a Saturday night that I was hanging out with my younger sis -K- and our friend K.B. after a night of being mall rats and cruising town we decided that we needed some pizza to feast on so off we go to a local pizza place.
Upon entering the establishment sis and K.B. had to ummmm powder their noses, so I said "I will get us a table." Well as karma would have it this was one of those places that had a sign up saying "Please wait to be seated." so wait I did, and wait , and wait. Finally spying a waitress "Ms." I say and give a wave.Waitress whizzes by quickly. Maybe she is busy I think. A different waitress moseys by
"Excuse me." I say again I even reach out and tap her on the shoulder Waitress # 2 keeps walking she even glances at me and then her shoulder. "Wow I think that is strange , I wonder to myself if my deodorant has stopped working or something of that nature.  Waitress # 1 comes whizzing by again and this time I stick my foot out  and and she trips over my foot and looks down at the floor tiles as if they have jumped up and tripped her.
Finally sis and K.B. come back and say"What is this you have not gotten a table yet?" K.B. says " They are not that busy." "Excuse me." K.B. says and right away Waitress # 2 comes over and says "So that will be two of you this evening?" "Hello." I say that will be three of us this evening." Waitress # 2 grabs two menus and takes us to a small table that has two chairs at it. Sis says " Ms. we need a booth their are three of us." The waitress looks around and shrugs and says."Okay." She then leads us/them over to a booth and says "Here you go." Handing sis and K.B. the two menu's.
As we settle into the booth K.B. and sis look at me as ask" What is up with her? did you piss her off or something?" I said" No she did not even see me." "Can you guys see me I ask?" Sis and K.B. laugh and they both assure me that they can indeed see me.
Waitress # 2 comes back and ask sis and k.b. what they would like to drink. Sis places her order, K.B. places hers and  I say" I would like a coke." Waitress scrabbles down our order and dashes away she comes back with two drinks she says "Let's see who had the sprite and who had the Dr. Pepper?" I look at sis and k.b. and say"See I told you I am invisible." They laugh and say "No way she just has to go back and get your drink."
"So." our waitress ask" What kind of pizza would you guys like?" Sis give her our order. Waitress repeats it back and leaves. A few minutes later our waitress returns with napkins, forks and plates.
Did I mention that she only brought two of everything. I raise my eyebrows at sis and K.B. in a what the hell manner K.B. says "We need another plate. Waitress looks at them shrugs and go off bringing back another plate that she sets down in front of K.B.
K.B. hands the plate to me where I place it in front of me.
I still have not gotten my drink yet. Sis, K.B. and I discuss the fact that I am dressed in black from head to toe even my hair is black so maybe I blend in to the background or maybe I have a superpower of some kind. K.B. decides to test this theory. "Well." K.B.says " You have not gotten your drink yet so wave the waitress down with no help from me or sis and we shall see if you really do have the power to be invisible." I accept that challenge."I say.
I spy Waitress #1 coming to serve the table next to us I look right at her and wave my hand in air, then my arms then I stand up and wave my arms all around. Nothing not even the folks at the tables next to us notice.
K.B. and Sis laugh hysterically I join in but say " Now do you believe me?" They were both impressed that I had the power invisibility. Then our waitress appears with our pizza , "Excuse me." I say "Could I get my drink now?" Our Waitress busy herself with serving the pizza.... to K.B. and Sis! K.B. says" Excuse me could I get a coke please?" Waitress looks at K.B. then K.B. still full glass and says You want two drinks?" K.B. laughs and says " Sure,why not?" Waitress shrugs and go to get the drink.

As Karma would have it even when I try to take a day and get away karma somehow finds a way to follow me. When hubs and I first started to date we decided that we needed a weekend to go somewhere and have some fun, We asked dear old dad and my sis -K- to join us. So off we went to play the ponies at Hot Springs,Arkansas. We packed up the car got up early and hit the road. It is about a 3 or 4 hour drive from where we live so we got up in plenty of time to make the first race. Things seemed to be going smoothly until my car begin to make a knocking noise and slowly spurted to a stop.  We all piled out of the car raised the hood to take a look. Karma's Ode to Mom's

With Mother's Day fast approaching I wanted to wax poetic about the wondrous days I spent starry eyed at being a new parent how I breast fed how all my children were breast fed and toilet trained right out the womb and how little honey dew melon, her sister lemon drop and I sat under our willow tree in the moonlight weaving our own clothes.................... But as Karma would have it I was not that mom I was that other mom you know the one that needed a paycheck and had to go back to work when her first baby was only a month old  so forgot about the whole breast feeding thing.  I was that mom you know the one that had deer caught in headlights, don't know what the hell she is doing kind of look.  I was that mom you know the one that went to work with baby snarf on her shoulder all day because no one bothered to tell me.  I was that mom you know the one that had 3 rowdy kids trailing behind her all wearing outfits of their own choosing. Karma's Bragging Rights ~A Love Letter To My Children

As Karma would have it Mothers Day is upon us this weekend to be precise. I am overcome with love and pride at the adults my children have become. I want them to know how much I love them and how I am who I am as a mother because of them. The flowers they give me may wilt, the ink may fade away on the cards I am given but there is something they have gifted me that will last a lifetime.  My baby bird gifted me this: Motherhood at a young age when I was on the road of self destruction due to low self-esteem. She opened my eyes to the wonders and joy that the world had to offer with her natural curiosity of the things around her. She gave my life true meaning  My wyld child gifted me this: Patience and imperfection, patience in that we all children learn at their own pace to she taught me to let things happen naturally and in due time.
