Karma's Uniconventional Family

As karma would have it.
I have always wanted a big family with lots of kids. I am not really sure how  old I was when this thought popped into my head, maybe it was when my baby sister was born I was 10 almost 11 at the time and from that day forward I knew I wanted to be a mom and that it was something I could be good at since I had no other talents to speak of. In earlier post I have told you about my baby bird, my wild child , and my baby boy. But I have never mentioned the others. The kids that although I did not give birth to them they are MINE. Got that they are "real." Yes they don't look like me and some of them are not even kin to me but they are my kids, they are my family because after all family don't end in blood.
All these kids have been raised up along side baby bird, wild child, and baby boy. When people ask them how many siblings they have they often respond with lots, and leave it at that but some people want to know the details so here is how Karma's Unconventional Family came to be.
Both my sisters lived with us when their marriages did not work out, but hubs and I did not mind we rolled up our sleeves and got busy with our unconventional family, Hubs and I were soon dubbed Nana and Uncle Daddy. When hubs car rolled up the driveway each evening Ray-Ray would say "Here comes the daddy." The nieces are as follows:
Boo-(is the oldest of the 1994 crew)with her curly blonde locks she always stood as a baby she talked 1st and seemed to be the ring leader of the 3.(this crew includes baby boy)
Bratney: the jokester out of the bunch, and for some reason was often mistaken for baby boys twin sister when they were mere tots.(she is the youngest of the 1994 crew)
Ray-Ray:Who was not a happy baby, until she learned to crawl and could follow the other kids around.
Low-Low-who was one of the babies or that is what we called her since she and sporty spice were both born within a month of each other. They thought they were twins for a very long time, and up until last year (they are now 13) we called them the babies. But now they refuse to answer to that, too grown they have informed us to be called babies.
A or Sporty Spice: came only a month after low low and for the longest time they were inseparable.
With a total 8 kids between my sisters and I these cousins grew up as close as any
siblings.Often I would be asked which ones were mine and my answer was always the
same.... All of them.
When baby bird was in Jr. High she had a great group of friends whom called themselves The Rejects, they were like the a 80's movies of misfits who happen to get along well. These kids started to come over more and more our house soon became the hang out house. It was not an usually to have more then 8 chairs around our family table each night for dinner. Hubs and I were blessed enough to be dubbed Madre and Papa Bear. What can I say about these kids. They are still friends to this day they may not see each other very often but they text, and IM a lot. These kids to quote a friend of mine "May look like a motley crew but they are great kids who are there for you when you need them the most.
I can't say too much about The Rejects since their story is not mine to tell but I can tell you that I am proud and honored to be called Madre by each and everyone of them.
About 4 years ago The bug our grandbaby came into our lives via a friend of baby bird, and wild child's. She and I have a special bond, we love crafting on the weekends in my craft room that was the former room of baby bird until she left the nest. The bugs mom is great and had allowed the bug and her baby sister to be a big part of our lives
so when people ask if they are my "real" children my answer is always the same yes they are ALL my real children.

Oh and the boo is expecting!! this baby too will by my "real" grandbaby.
