Karma's Mic. Drop
As Karma would have it I am about to drop the mic, on this subject once and for all I have held it in long enough. As Karma would have it I have long since struggled with the reality that I am for all intents and purposes a feminist. For those of you not familiar with this term according to Webster's it is defined as: The Belief that men and women should have equal rights and opportunities.
And as a feminist that comes from a family where the majority are women, we just welcomed our 14th girl into this family for those of you that are keeping count. I just want to say this, as ALL my girls go out into the world my prayer for them is simple for them to meet someone who will treat them as an equal. My hope for them is that they will be strong and independent, that they will not wait for the knight in shinning armor to come and rescue them while it does not mean that we don't need a helping hand every once in a while. It simply means that we have enough smarts to know how to make our way in the world as an EQUAL.
As karma would have it hubs and I are just that, equals we do fight,we do disagree but we also agree that our life as a couple is an equal endeavor after all raising children is a tag team sport. As all my girls go out into the world and meet their future spouses, life partners what have you , my hope for them is this that hubs and I had enough influence on them that they will never ever dumb themselves down in order to make whomever they choose in life feel superior to them. Nor should they feel superior over anyone else.
Girls are not all pink, with soft, squishy marshmallow centers we are something deeper and way more complicated then we ourselves know. It has taken me,we, women as a whole a very long time to get to this point in life where we are consider equal to men. So for those haters and shade throwers out there that want to know why movies are now casting an all female cast in certain blockbuster movies I say again that we are ALL CREATED EQUAL....
