Karma's Baby ( or You Named our baby What?????)
Tomorrow will be my youngest will be 17 tomorrow. This is it my baby the youngest of our family. Where did the time go. This kid is truly Karma's baby in more ways then one. Here is the story of Karma's Baby.
I thought it would be easy to conceive my 3rd child I mean after all I got pregnant the 1st time without even trying. Our second child was conceived within the 1st 6 months of our marriage. So this time around it would be easy. Right? As Karma would have it , It took me a year to conceive our 3rd child. Finally I was expecting we were thrilled , excited this baby would have big sisters. The girls were excited. My oldest daughter's only request "This one better be a boy." She stated this very matter of fact after all she said" She asked for a boy the last time, and did I get one? NO!." "Well I will put that order in for you right away" I told her.
As Karma would have it during the ultrasound the tech turned to me and asked " Would like to know the sex of your baby? " I said "Only , Only if you can tell 100% what this baby is otherwise we will be surprised." Well the tech says " ITS A BOY.!!!!"" Wow oh my gosh Really" I gasped. "A boy are you sure?" The tech looked worried for a minute ." Why did you not want a boy?" He asked. "Well I explained we had been hoping , praying because you see we come from a family full of girls I have 2 sister, they are each expecting a girl." So we do indeed want a boy." So we waited, and waited, and waited for you see. As Karma would have it my son was 2 and 1/2 weeks overdue. I am only 5'3 to the later this baby was the more I waddled and the more I looked like one of those balloon's you see floating around the thanksgiving day parade. I begged the Dr. Please do something I am gong to be pregnant forever. I had been in labor the week before the whole week as a matter of fact. But with no baby yet. The labor finally stopped at the end of the week so please , please Doc. Induce Me PLEASE. I can't take this anymore.
Finally Induction, but As Karma would have it my son was just not ready yet. The Dr. Cranked up the drugs to induce , Tried to break my water, and I labored for 2 days. Finally , Finally my baby boy slide silently into the world , silently why is he not crying . "What is the matter." I asked my husband its OK he says he is blue , but the Dr. is working on him I waited it seemed like forever but then the Cry , and relief he is fine. He weighed 8lbs 3oz the biggest of my children. When the nurse begin to suction him our like they do all babies he tried to nurse on the suction bulb he came our very hungry. I was tired but very, very, happy we had a son my husband was beaming. As they cleaned my son up and wheeled me too my room. I thought I had the perfect name for him Lucas Sky or Ian Tracey. I had spoke to hubby about these names . We had tossed names back and forth during the whole pregnancy. BUT As Karma would have it after being in labor for two days I was wiped out my youngest sister came to the door . I just saw "My Nephew." she said he is so cute but then something strange was happening it seemed like she was fading in and out my head swam like a scene out of a movie she seem to float further away . I felt weak, my body felt heavy. "Jerry ." I said to her get Jerry (Husband's name in case I forgot to tell you. ) That is all I remember.
Next thing I remember is Jerry and a nurse standing over me. Are you OK? " They are both asking . I tried to sit up but the nurse told me to stay laying down and to just rest. " But I want to see the baby." I said . They assured me I could see him later when I was feeling better. Jerry cleared the room of visitor's and I feel asleep.
I woke up later in the evening feeling a little better. Jerry sitting beside me he asked did I feel better I said sure I was fine. " Can I see the baby now?" I asked "Sure. I will go and get him." Jerry said . As Jerry was walking out the door he called over his shoulder. " I named our son. " My jaw dropped open and my head spun "Oh No." I thought I hope he is kidding. I had my heart set on those to names maybe he is joking. .....
Then I heard the wheels of a bassinet and in came my son on the head of the bassinet was his name...
